Difficulties in learning English

Thanks to Taylor's College which made me a better man. At least I'm turning better in English, not to say I'm being very very good in it, but still better than what I was in secondary school. Everyone has different upbringing. I used to communicate in Mandarin with parents and siblings. Then, I had learned Cantonese in secondary school for 5 years. Though my Cantonese is not so good but still can pass. Hahaha.

In Malaysia, there are 3 main languages - Malay, Mandarin and English. As I am from non-English speaking background, there are problems when I come to the pronunciation. Like sometimes I will make mistake in the pronunciation of the English words. I will read the words in Malay pronunciation.

It's getting difficult when I attended college. Taylor's College has many English-speaking students. Many of them are pretty good in English. Mostly are from KL. They used to speak English since they were born. It's very normal right? Just like I am good in Mandarin. Sometimes, it's not I don't want to speak. It's just I don't know how to express my feeling or words in English in the communication.

In secondary school, grammar is an annoying thing for me. I hate to learn it. But then, thinking about it now, I am very regret I didn't learn it well. It's actually very very important. I had took part in some English course while waiting for the result of SPM to be announced. The course contains speaking for students. Well. I have said I am not good in English. I tend to read the words wrongly then the teacher began to laugh at me. It's not that kind of friendly smile but tease. Like made fun of my pronunciation. He kept on repeat the correct pronunciation in a teasing way but yet I got it wrong. The other students started to look at me like I am a alien. This is what I hate the most. If I am good in pronunciation, why do I need to attend lessons? Teacher would not know this kind of tease and laugh somehow hurt the student.

I find it comfortable when I encounter with people who speak Mandarin. For me, in English, I hardly find the feeling, hardly laugh when some people is talking something funny to me. Like it's not funny at all.

For English novels, people can read them very quick. But for me, it takes time. I need to read for few times. First time, just read through it. Secondly, check for the meaning of words through dictionary. Then, read again. It seriously takes time. It's different as to compare when reading mandarin novels. I got what the writer wants to express even I browse through it.

But still English is very important. Starts learning it before it's too late. You may face some obstacles in the process of learning but I am sure you will enjoy your success later. No pain no gain right?

Taiwan 麵通屋 Mentsuya Ramen

泡汤完后,肚子也饿了

我们计划好吃拉面,司机大哥就把我们载到这间拉面餐馆

我们抵达的时间刚刚好,麵通屋才刚准备营业

由于时间还早,我们不需要排队,就直接进去

真是太幸运啦

After hot spring, we went for Ramen

All of us were starving at that time

The restaurant opened just as we reached

As it was still early, we didn't have to queue

Lucky us

很多明星的签名碟

There were many plates with autographs of the celebrity stars

麵通屋也有提供套餐(包括拉面,一个配餐和一杯饮料)

There were set meals in the restaurant (include ramen, a dish and drink)

希望下一次会去成

麵通屋的拉面真的很好吃

Taiwan Ice Monster

吃完鼎泰豐小笼包司机大哥推荐我们吃台湾不可错过的甜品 - Ice Monster!

据说夏天来的话,是需要排队的。

我们去的时候则是春天(虽说是春天,可是却有16度!)

下车时,外面下着雨...

在雨天吃冰,另一种体验!

Our next stop - Ice Monster

It was raining outside

We enjoy having ice during the cold rainy day ^^

服务员细心地介绍Ice Monster的各种类型的冰和甜点。

由于我们是旅客,他还拿出Ipad展示图片给我们看,好让我们知道是什么样子的冰。

The waiter introduced the menu and showed us the photos of the ices.

We had a better idea of how's the ice would be like.

原创新鲜草莓冰  Fresh Strawberry Avalanche (NT $220)

芒果雪酪  Mango Freeze (NT $150)

新鲜芒果绵花甜 Fresh Mango Sensation (夏季 Summer- NT$220     冬季 Winter- NT$250)

草莓和芒果都很甜!

Their strawberries and mangoes are very sweet!

The taste are really good!

对我来说,厕所的清洁,是会影响顾客对该店的评论和印象。

有一位从苏格兰回来马来西亚度假的9岁小朋友,告诉我说她超级喜欢某某厕所,

因为那大概是她在马来西亚见过最干净的厕所.

不用担心,这家店的厕所非常干净哦!

In my point of view, the cleanliness of a washroom is very important

It would affect the first impression of the customers.

The washrooms in Ice Monster are pretty clean!

台湾鼎泰豐 Taiwan Din Tai Fung Dumpling House

鼎泰豐!

小笼包!

第一家鼎泰豐是信義本店

由于越来越受欢迎,在台湾和一些国家都开了分店。

我们则去了分店 - 忠孝店

Din Tai Fung is famous of its dumplings.

The original restaurant is located at Xinyi Road in Taipei.

There are many branches at Taiwan and other countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia, United States and so on.

The one we went - Zhongxiao Branch

司机大哥帮我们打电话预位,以免在外排队等很久。

来到鼎泰豐的忠孝店,我发觉女服务员们都很漂亮。不知道是不是有甄选过, 哈哈!

人不止漂亮,而且服务也非常好哦!

看到我们手拿着包包,服务员就拿了这样的东西给我们放包包,

这样以来,我们就不需要把包包放在大腿上。

In order to avoid long queue, the driver booked the seats for us.

I was impressed by the pretty waitress and the excellent service!

A stand for putting our bags was given to us.

The waitress covered the top while we were having our meal so that our bags wouldn't get dirty.

在点菜之后,会有服务员前来问是否要小菜/开胃菜

我们点了一些。

We ordered some small dishes too

期待已久,令人垂涎三尺的小笼包登场啦!

Here came the dumplings/ xiao long bao!

炒饭也不错吃!

Besides, we also ordered fried rice. Taste not bad :)

价钱上来说呢,台湾的会比马来西亚的便宜一些

一定要来吃哦!

Must come and try it out!

台湾夜市Taiwan Night Market
