Backpack in Penang

I am part of the Y Generation. I don't want to just stay in the house. This is what I am thinking. Life is not just about work and study. I want to enjoy my life as much as I can. We only live once right! Instead of "rotting"(bored until rot) in the house, my sister and I decided to spend 3 days 2 nights in Penang. The trip was actually the unplanned one. We only booked the hotel for the first night and got our bus tickets from Kampar to Penang. I uploaded the photos in my instagram and tagged #kindofbackpackbutnotbackpack. Ya! Because we spent one night in hotel but the other night in a backpacker hostel. We didn't take a cab, in other words, just by buses and walked to the places. We had some really good dinner but skipped our lunch.

Budget: RM320 per person
Noordin Mews: RM290 (a room downstair)
Bus: RM1.40 per way
Red Inn Penang Guesthouse: RM70(a room with double decker bed)

The journey from Kampar to Penang took about 3 - 3.5 hours. It was strange as we bought our tickets from Edaran company but the ticker seller asked us to get into the bus of Konsortium. She asked if there were 2 Konsortium buses. We said no and she asked us just to get in. Then we got scolded by the Konsortium ticket seller as the bus was heading to KL. She scolded us and asked us to get out of the bus. We quickly asked for the bus number and the Edaran ticket seller had dirty look on her face. Well! They were getting on our nerves. Who do they think they are? Can simply scold people? I don't understand why some people can just be so lc and scold at people. Let's forget about the unhappy case. The bus stopped at Terminal Amanjaya Ipoh for 10-15 minutes. It's located near the highway. All express buses had been relocated from Medan Gopeng to this terminal. After 3 hours, the bus reached at Terminal Sg Nibong, Penang. We didn't know that was Terminal Sg Nibong as the bus driver didn't even say a word. We were shy to ask the boy who sit beside us. By then we were brave enough to ask, we already missed the chance to get off from the bus as the bus was heading to Butterworth. The boy asked us to take ferry from Butterworth to Penang then take bus to Komtar. We should have buy the ticket to Butterworth and take ferry to penang! This way can have us save money and the distance from Ferry Terminal to Komtar is nearer. We learnt we have to be brave to ask for help from others. If you were just quiet, people wouldn't know you need help and you would just stuck there. As we forgot to buy the return bus tickets to Kampar, we went to Butterworth again by ferry after checked in and put our luggages in the hotel. Ahhhh! We wasted another RM1.20.

The bus ticket to Penang (RM25.30/per person)
The bus ticket to Butterworth (RM21/per person)
Ferry to Penang (RM1.20, paid when went to Penang from Butterworth, no need pay when come out from Penang)
